If we have published something of yours and you want it removed, email [email protected] and we will take it down. We would rather remove something quickly than argue about it.

The quick route

You do not need to file a formal legal notice to get something removed. Send us:

  1. The link to the post on this site.
  2. Which photo or photos, if the post has more than one. The photo number, or a description, is fine.
  3. A sentence saying it is yours, or that it is a photo of you.

That is enough for us to act on. We aim to remove content the same day we receive the request.

Photos of you

You do not have to own the copyright to ask. If you are the person in the photo and you do not want to be on a humour site, that is a good enough reason. Email us and it comes down. We will not ask you to justify it.

Formal DMCA notice

If you would rather file a formal notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, send the following to [email protected]:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of someone authorised to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the work you say has been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material you want removed, with enough detail for us to find it. A direct link is best.
  4. Your contact details: address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.

Deliberately filing a false notice can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.

Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before it was removed.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district in which you live, or, if you are outside the United States, any district in which we may be found, and a statement that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.

Repeat infringers

We remove content from sources that generate repeat complaints, and we stop publishing from them.

Attribution

Where a post came from somewhere else, we link back to the source at the bottom of it. If you would prefer a different credit, or a link to a different page, tell us and we will change it. If you would prefer no credit and no post at all, tell us that instead and we will remove it.
